ESTERO, FL (January 19, 2018) – Miromar Outlets presented a $3,500 donation check to the Lee County Mounted Patrol on Friday, January 19, 2018 thanking the volunteers for their support. The Mounted Patrol has saddled up to escort Miromar Outlets’ shoppers every year for over a decade during the busy holiday shopping season.
Lee County Sheriff Officers Kecia Angelo (left) and Jeanne Moore (right) received their $3,500 donation check from Miromar Outlets Vice President, Jeff Staner (center), as part of their annual tradition. Accompanying the officers is Painted Quarter Horses Pistolette, 22, and Rocket, 8. Pistolette has dedicated nearly 20 years of her life in-service and is described as being the department’s “go-horse” due to her sweet nature and comfortableness amongst crowds.
The Lee County Mounted Patrol is made up of volunteers and their personal horses that are qualified and trained in community policing procedures including crowd and traffic control by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Training is paid for through donations and the volunteers transport the horses at their own expense.
