ESTERO, FL (January 28, 2019) – Miromar Outlets presented a $3,500 donation check to the Lee County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol on Monday, January 28, 2019 thanking the volunteers for their support. The Mounted Patrol has saddled up to escort Miromar Outlets’ shoppers every year for over a decade during the busy holiday shopping season.
Lee County Sheriff’s Jeanne Shadduck (left), Kecia Angelo (center) and Marilee Conroy (right) received a $3,500 donation check from Miromar Outlets Vice President, Jeff Staner as part of our annual tradition. Accompanying Shadduck is Painted Quarter Horse Rocket, 8, a veteran when it comes to patrolling Miromar Outlets. Angelo owns Fred, an 8 year-old Percheron Friesian Cross rescue who galloped his way into the group last March. Heston, a 22 year-old Morgan is the eldest horse but proves his toughness and endurance to owner Marilee Conroy due to his sweet nature and comfortableness amongst crowds.
The Lee County Mounted Patrol is made up of volunteers and their personal horses that are qualified and trained in community policing procedures including crowd and traffic control by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Training is paid for through donations and the volunteers transport the horses at their own expense.
