ESTERO, FL (February 21, 2010) – A testament to Naples Flatbread Kitchen & Bar is its commitment to healthier lifestyles through nutritional eating. The Miromar Outlets restaurant is now the first Blue Zone-approved restaurant in Estero.
Naples Flatbread Kitchen & Bar was designed to offer a healthier alternative for customers. For example, it uses state-of-the-art ovens instead of fryers without sacrificing flavor. The restaurant also offers an extensive menu of nutritional food choices such as the “flatter” flatbreads – a substitute for bulky carb-loaded breads used in other restaurants. The gluten-free menu offers numerous options for gluten-intolerant customers.
“Our new Southwest quinoa bowl is one of the most popular additions to our menu and is a featured participating item in the Blue Zones Project,” said restaurant owner Palma Desiano. “As a new addition to our salad menu, the dish features corn, black beans, peppers and onions. It’s hard to believe something that tastes so good is also so healthy for you!”
The Blue Zones Project is a community-wide well-being improvement initiative to help make healthy choices easier for everyone in Southwest Florida. It also is a growing trend across the country. The project encourages community changes that lead to healthier options for residents. From worksites and schools to restaurants and grocery stores, small changes contribute to big benefits.
The menu at the critically acclaimed Naples Flatbread offers more than its name implies. In addition to over 40 wines by the glass and an international assortment of flatbread presentations, the restaurant also features over 22 domestic and imported beers, pizza, baked pasta dishes, Panini sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts. A children’s menu is also available.
Naples Flatbread Kitchen & Bar in Miromar Outlets will celebrate this milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and free food tastings Tuesday, February 27 at 11 a.m. Fifty free tickets are still available by visiting goo.gl/kgDHRo.
